Kilkenny United have announced that manager Pedro Rodrigues has left the club with immediate effect.

The Portuguese former player began the season as assistant to Kevin McLaughlin but assumed the reins ahead of the April 16th meeting with Wexford Youths following the latter's departure.

It's been another up and down season for the Women's National League's newest side, who are still without a win since acceding to the league ahead of the 2015-16 season.

Kilkenny have lost all six of their games so far this season, scoring just three goals and conceding 27, though they came within five minutes of their first draw in two seasons against Galway in April.

The club announced Rodrigues' departure on Twitter, writing: “Kilkenny United WFC would like to thank Pedro Rodrigues for his contribution to the club this season.

“We would like to wish him all the best in the future.”

Kilkenny are now inviting applications from UEFA A and B-licensed coaches for the position of manager. Applicants can email Shane Murray at lfckilkennyutd@yahoo.ie or call 0878720027.
