Live Updates for Cork City -v- Bohemians

90' + 4'

FULL TIME!

The game has ended between Cork City and Bohemians.

90'

There will be four minutes of added time.

89'

Substitution

Kevin O'Connor replaces Karl Sheppard for Cork City.

89'

Substitution

Garry Comerford replaces GearĂ³id Morrissey for Cork City.

84'

Yellow Card

Dinny Corcoran is booked for Bohemians.

81'

Sub Robbe McCourt has a go now, trying to curl in a shot from 20 yards. It sails high over the Cork goal and the home fans jeer the effort, but that's what Bohs need to do if they are going to get anything from this... have a go whenever a gap opens up.

78'

Bohs get a break, a free kick right on the edge of the City area. But Keith Ward's attempted dink, presumably a shot, drifts harmlessly wide. He needed to better with that and time is really running out for Bohs now.

78'

Yellow Card

Conor McCarthy is booked for Cork City.

76'

Substitution

Robbie McCourt replaces Keith Buckley for Bohemians.

75'

City break and a long ball out of defence from Caey is taken on by Cummins. But he's forced wide and his shot is blocked out for a corner... which is cleared.

73'

Bohs are reduced to a wild effort from distance by Rob Cornwall. Any uncertainty in the City defence seems to have been eradicated and they are starting to strabgle the game now.

69'

Cork City have tightened up as the half has gone on and the likelihood of them extending their lead has started to exceed the liklihood of Bohs getting cutting the deficit.

66'

Substitution

Ryan Swan replaces Daniel Mandroiu for Bohemians.

62'

Bohs are working hard at driving forward whenever they can but City look like a big cat in the long grass, ready to pounce whenever the visitors lose possession. Another goal looks likely but can Bohs get themselves on the scoresheet before City add a third on the break?

58'

Substitution

Luke Wade-Slater replaces Daniel Grant for Bohemians.

56'

Bohs have responded well to the setback of City's second goal and put the home defence under a bit of pressure. Shane Griffin made a bit of a bags of a clearance but just about recovered to clear the danger.

52'

The attendance at the Cross tonight is 3,016

50'

GOAL!

Dan Casey scores for Cork City. Danny Grant fouled James Tilley 20 yards out in a central position and when Tilley touched the free to Casey his powerful, swerving shot totally bamboozled James Talbot in the Bohemians goal.

48'

Just as the first half started with a scrappy five minutes, so has the second. I guess the wet pitch rquires a little bit of sizing up.

46'

Second Half

The second half between Cork City and Bohemians has started.

45' + 2'

Half Time

It is half-time between Cork City and Bohemians.

45'

Graham Cummins has the ball in the net, heading right into the top left corner from Conor McCormack's cross... but the assistant had his flag up and the 'goal' is ruled out. There'll be two added minutes at the end of the half.

43'

Substitution

James Tilley replaces Daire O'Connor for Cork City.

40'

The pace has dropped a little bit as we move into the final five minutes of the half. There have been some speculative efforts but the play has become a little less focused. Now we have a break in play as Daire O'Connor goes down under a challenge and the trainer comes on.

34'

Good driving forward play from Cork as Buckley digs a cross out fromm right on the endline, only to see it headed away, then O'Connor's jinking run gets the crowd to their feet before he is finally closed down and the danger is cleared. This is a very entertaining game.

29'

Yellow Card

Conor McCormack is booked for Cork City.

28'

A great chance for Bos as keith Buckley's excellent diagonal ball sends Mandroiu in on goal. Mandroiu's first touch was good but with the goal at his mercy he blew his shot into the side netting.

23'

GOAL!

Conor McCarthy scores for Cork City. Great running down the left from Shane Griffin forces a corner and Daire O'Connor's corner swung beautifully into the danger area, McCarthy banging in his header from four or five yards.

21'

Danny Mandroiu is honing his sights as another effort goes over the City crossbar, but this time it's a darn sight closer than his first attepmt. City found themselves totally open there.

20'

There's a great pace to this game and while both teams suffer episodes of giving the ball away, play is opening up nicely. There is a ral sense of a goal coming but the lord only knows which side will get it.

16'

A decent spell from both sides with tackles flying in and a definte loosening up of the play. Ends with a mazy run from Daire O'Connor and a placed effort low to Talbot's bottom left corner, which the Bohs keeper just about manages to scoop outside his post.

13'

City's Daire O'Connor floats a free towards the far post but no City player can get to it and it bounces over the end line. A bit of a waste really.

11'

Some good pressure from Bohs and a shout for a penalty as Levingston appears to be held on the ground by one of City's centre backs. Innocuous enough put these things can be given if the ref is in the mood.

10'

The first attempt on goal comes from Bohemians' Danny Mandroiu but if I tell you that his volley from the edge of the box went over the bar, I want you to imagine that it could not possibly have been any higher over the bar.

8'

Decent recovery defending from Bohs after a couple of hairy moments threaten to put them in trouble. Rob Cornwall got a dropping ball stuck under his feet but did well to shield the ball while under pressure. Karl Sheppard then denied a chance to get a cross in when he might have used Daire O'Connor to better effect.

4'

A good competitive start from both teams and Boehs midfielder Conor Levingston gets a talking to from referee Robert Hennessy after clattering into City skipper Karl Sheppard. No chances for either side yet but some decent through balls from City's midfield that weren't picked up.

GAME ON!

The game between Cork City and Bohemians has kicked off.

0'

The teams are coming out now and we're just a few moments away from kick-off.

0'

The teams are starting to head in now after their warm ups. Fifteen minutes until kick-off and the pitch looks good, although there's a fair bit of spray kicking up when the ball is played along the surface. Not a massive crowd by the look of things, but respectable.

0'

Former Cork City stars Philip Long and Dave Barry are in the stands tonight. Dave played in Cork City's first ever league game away to Dundalk back in 1984, but did his leg and was immediately out for several months. Don't think Philip ever played in the Flower Lodge days. Sure he's only a young lad.

0'

Cork make just one change from the side that beat Finn Harps 4-3 last Friday night. Graham Cummins is back in the starting XI in place of Dan Smith who drops to the bench. Bohemians make three changes from their lineup that drew with Derry at Dalymount last weekend. Dinny Corcoran, Dan Grant and Keith Buckley come in for Luke Wade-Slater, Ali Reghba and Scott Allardice.

0'

Turner's Cross is a damp place to be this evening. The lights are on and thr rain id drifting down in an almost invisible film of relentless drizzle. Wrap up warm if you're coming in to see Cork City take on Bohemians tonight. There's just over an hour until kick-off here and Extratime will take you through every kick of the ball as Bohemians look to defend their unbeaten start to the season while City will be aiming to further steady their ship after a hit and miss start to 2019.
